Jared Harris Faces Resident Evil: Apocalypse

Jared Harris has been added to the cast of Screen Gems/Constantin Film's Resident Evil: Apocalypse, for director Alexander Witt, which starts production on August 11 in Toronto.

Harris will play Dr. Ashford, a wheelchair-bound genius who has developed a formula to create superhumans. Ashford's formula falls into the wrong hands and is used to create supersoldiers. Milla Jovovich, Oded Fehr and Sienna Guillory also star.

Harris has also signed to star as a recurring character in a three- or four-episode arc on the CBS series Without a Trace and is attached to star alongside Michelle Williams in the indie feature Safety Glass for writer-director Jonathan Kyle Glatzer.

Karl Urban Talks The Return of the King

Sci Fi Wire talked with The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King star Karl Urban about his role in the final film.

Karl Urban�who reprises the character of �omer in the upcoming third Lord of the Rings film, The Return of the King�told SCI FI Wire that his character plays an important role in the finale. "He aids the Fellowship to achieving their goal of distracting ... Sauron," Urban said in an interview. He added, "It's just going to be epic. We've got the battle of Pelennor Fields. We've got Shelob. We've got the assault on Mordor, you know? It's just going to be absolutely massive."
